Happy Birthday

Here is a birthday card that I did for my sister-in-law.

I used Lyrical Letters for the Happy Birthday, which I put on top of some green glitter paper.

Sorry so late . . .

So, we were a little late in getting a birthday card mailed off to my sister-in-law, so I thought why not make a joke of it.

The inside said "I guess that is why they call it snail mail".

I used the snail image on page 24 of the Paisley Cartridge for this one.

The A B C's of Disney

When we went to Walt Disney World the first time my youngest child was about 4 years old.  When we came home I wanted to create a scrapbook of our trip.  This was my first every adventure into scrapbooking and I felt like I needed a theme for the book . . . I mean something more than just "Disney" . . . I decided to make the entire book "The A B C's of Disney"

Here is the B layout from the book . . .

B is for Belle and Buzz.  I was able to include the picture from watching the stage show Beauty and the Beast (more B words) and from the meet & greet and story time with Belle on one side, and on the other is my daughter, Beth (another B word) meeting Buzz Lightyear who was her favorite character at the time.  I even included the penny we pressed with Buzz light year on the page . . . and of course, the color is BLUE . . . another B word.

Embroidery

Let's switch gears here . . . I have been talking a lot recently about scrapbooking and card making, which don't get me wrong, I love, but there are other crafts out there too . . . how about some of my machine embroidery projects.

It is almost time to go back to school, and how about this for your favorite teacher.

I did this project for a friend of mine to give to a teacher they know.  She purchased a simple red bag, and then I made a pocket for the front of the bag, which I embroidered the teacher's name and an apple on.  It is a great bag for her to carry everything she needs from her car to the classroom every day.

Look what I got today!

So, today we had some errands to run, and we stopped into JoAnn Fabrics and Crafts.  Right now their seasonal Cricut cartridges are only $19.99, so look what I got . . . October 13st and Pumpkin Carvings!

And the best part, these were the LAST TWO of the Halloween cartridges that the store had!  When I asked the lady if they had them she said that she thought they were out, then we looked into the locked cabinet and there they were, in the very back, behind some other cartridges.  Then I asked her to verify that they were on sale, since they did not have the $19.99 sign up.  I said "if they are, I think I am going to hug you" . . . she scanned them and said "Do you want to hug me now, or after I ring them up"

I was so happy, since I needed both of these cartridges for a big project I am working on.  I was telling the clerk and she said she got goose bumps she was so happy for me.  Then she suggested that I go out an buy a lottery ticket.

Birthday card for the coffee lover

Here is a birthday card that I did for my mother, who is a coffee lover.

I used the Cricut Cartridge Lyrical Letters for the coffee cup image out of a glitter paper, and then added a ribbon.  Cute, easy and fast!

Happy Birthday

Here is a layout that I did for my birthday a couple of years ago. I am a HUGE Mickey Mouse fan, so I had to use Mickey in my layout.

Happy Birthday card

Here is a birthday card I made for a co-worker.  Her favorite colors are teal and brown, so it was easy to pick these papers.

I used my Lyrical Letters cartridge to cut the center image and the frame.

Thanks a "Truck Load"

I made this thank you card for my sister-in-law's family, because I thought that my nephew would enjoy a card that says "Thanks a tuck load!"

I had some paper with different tire tracks that I used for the background.  Then I cut this truck from my Disney Mickey and Friends cartridge.

Happy Birthday card

For some reason I have gotten really into making cards recently.  I feel like everyone was doing this several years ago, mostly the stamped holiday cards, and I never got into then and thought that I never would . . . boy was I wrong!

Now that I have my Cricut, it is so easy to cut out shapes, images and saying so I can make a personal card.  I love that I can use the papers I pick, and that I don't end up spending a ton of time at the card store looking for just the right card.

I don't think that this card is my BEST work, but the person I gave it to like it.

I used a blue paper with stars in several different colors, and bordered it with blue glitter paper.  Then I cut the Happy Birthday from my Calligraphy Collection Cricut Cartridge.
